March Empties

What are "empties"?

Empties are products that I have used from start to finish.

I am going to show you my empty makeup, skincare, and hair product containers, give a mini review, and then tell you if I would purchase the product again.

I am not a beauty guru or product junkie. (I just started using concealer.) I do not have drawers and cabinets full of makeup and products that I don't use regularly.

I am a mom that got lazy with skin care and makeup over the years. I'm not going to share my makeup story today, but I have been on the hunt for products that work well for me.

1. Up & Up Daily Facial Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin (Target's generic brand of Cetaphil- The one I linked to is not the exact one that I use, it was just the only one I could find on the website.) - I use this every morning in the shower to wash my face. I prefer something gentle, and this does the trick. I sometimes jump around with this type of cleanser, but this is the one I have purchased the most over the years. I'm sure I will purchase again.

2. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation - I use the shade Classic Ivory Light 2. I have been using this foundation for years. I have been experimenting with other foundations that I like, but I still like this one and have already repurchased it. I have oily skin. This does not leave me super matte, but I get kind of a dewy finish with it. I currently use the as my everyday foundation and I mix it with a BB cream so that I get a light to medium coverage. I then set it with powder.

3. Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum - This is product that I have used for years. I have naturally wavy hair that tends to frizz. I use this on my hair and it does reduce the frizz and it does cut down on the drying time if I blow dry my hair. I have purchased many times and will continue to purchase. A large bottle (like the one pictured) will last a really long time. My sister started just purchasing the small travel size since it takes so long to use up, and I thought it was a good idea. I am currently using up my travel size that I already had on hand and will purchase another one when I use it up.

4. Tresemme Thermal Creations - This is a heat protection spray. I do blow dry my hair and use hot tools, so I use this to protect it. This is something that I have used for years and have already repurchased.

I promise to not turn this blog into a beauty blog. I have enjoyed reading posts by some of my favorite bloggers that share their beauty and skincare routines. I also enjoy seeing all of the products that they use and like, or have used and don't like; so I am going to start doing some of these kinds of posts.

Do you have a list of products that you repurchase over and over? Do you finish a product even if you don't really like it? Please share in the comments.

*This is not a sponsored post. I purchased all products mentioned with my own money and have given my own personal opinion of them.

Meal Plan Monday #3

I was living on the edge Friday and went to the grocery store with no list or meal plan. Scary, right? Ok, maybe not too scary, but it did take me a little bit to figure out what we would actually eat this week when I sat down and tried to figure it out based on what I bought. I did know what I was making for St. Patrick's Day, so that helped.

Monday - Stuffed Peppers, Corn on the Cob, and Garlic Bread

Tuesday - Corned Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Cabbage, and Irish Cream Pie

Wednesday - Cheesy Chicken Bundles and Rice

Thursday - Corned Beef and Swiss Paninis and Chips

Friday - Pizza

Hey Batter Batter - Free Printable

Have you started to notice that free printables are popping up on Thursdays? I can't say how long it will last, but I have these to share, so here you go.

I am not normally a fan of themed rooms, but my little guys wanted a sports themed bathroom. They are only little once, so we went with it. There are lots of balls on the shower curtain and everything else in the room, so I kept the art work simple.

*All printables are for personal use only. Right click on the image to save to your computer, and then print wherever you have your pictures printed. This one prints best as an 8 x 10 or smaller.

Love is...Free Printable

I have another free printable to share with you today.

I have this particular one framed in our master bedroom. It would make a great addition to a gallery wall.

Show & Tell Tuesday: My Favorite Room

http://www.momfessionals.com/p/blog-page.html

Momfessionsals is a new to me blog, but I have really enjoyed the Show & Tell Tuesday posts, so I decided it was time to join in.

This week's theme is My Favorite Room.

It was hard to pick just one room, but I had to go with my kitchen. It is the room I spend the most time in each day, and the room that everyone seems to gather in.

Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures. This table is usually covered in snacks, puzzles, and legos.

My favorite part of the kitchen is our back splash.

Our little coffee corner. We drink a LOT of coffee in this house. We use the Keurig every night and I sometimes use it to make an iced coffee in the middle of the day, but my husband likes to make a big thermos of coffee to take to work each morning.

This is my pantry. You can take a peek inside here. I recently got it all organized again.

That wraps up my favorite room, but first you must see a before picture so that you can appreciate how far it has come. Floral wallpaper and copper blinds anyone?

Meal Plan Monday #1

I am a meal planner. I generally plan a weeks worth of meals before heading out to the grocery store each week. I have no structure to how I plan Monday - Wednesday meals. Sometimes I assign themes, sometimes I go by what we have on hand, what sounds good, or what is on sale. We almost always have leftovers on Thursday and something easy on Friday that we can eat picnic style for our family movie night.

It is so much easier to make a quick plan, head to the store ONCE, and then be prepared for the week. It saves time and money.

Monday - Perfect Pot Roast, Rice and Gravy, Veggies - I have made this so many times. It really is the best pot roast.

Tuesday - Tacos, Spanish Rice, and Chips & Salsa - Anytime I ask Cade what he wants for dinner he picks tacos. Always.

Wednesday - Dinner at Church

Thursday - Leftovers

Friday - Pot Roast Patty Melts (using more leftover roast), Mac and Cheese
