It's not Friday anymore and we were having too much fun to make any pictures, so you are getting my Five on Friday very late Sunday night.
1. Monday was a really fun day. I went on a 3 mile walk with my friend Anna and then we hung out the rest of the day. The day included play time at both houses, pizza, swimming, and then a sleepover for the boys at her house.
2. Wednesday, we met up with the same group of friends and headed to one of the FL state parks for a Summer adventure. Trails, a waterfall, a snake encounter, lots and lots of snacks, more snacks, and swimming. It was a good day!
3. We spent the rest of the week relaxing and doing laundry so that I could get Cade packed for Summer Camp.
4. I posted my Summer Beauty Essentials Video. What are your must haves for Summer?
5. We got Cade all packed up for camp and then filmed a few packing tips for you. If you have children headed to camp this Summer or anywhere else, really, you should check it out.
We are a month into Summer and I finally started to realized that our days needed just a little bit of structure. I needed a simple plan to make sure that I still get things done around the house, but it needed to be done in a way that didn't take up a lot of time.
My goal for the Summer is to simply enjoy my kids. This will include many pool days, day trips to the beach and State parks, and some lazy days around the house.

Bedtime Routines for the Boys
-during the school year they generally go to bed somewhere between 7:30- 8:00 p.m.
I want the boys to be able to stay up later during the Summer, but I also want to still enjoy the evening on the couch each night with my man. We decided that they still go upstairs around 8:00 p.m., but they don't have to go to bed as long as they are quite. They can watch movies or play quietly. If they get loud or start coming down stairs to ask questions they have to just go to bed. It is working out really well.
It has been SO LONG since I have done a Five on Friday, but it's back. At least for this week, anyway!
1. Our oldest niece graduated from high school on Friday so we went to Florida for the big event. It was a quick trip, but it's always nice to see everyone. We are so proud of her! We made a pit stop on the way home and H wanted his picture taken with this Alligator.
2. One of my best friends moved to the beach a few months ago, so it was time to take the boys and go see her. We had a lot of fun! I didn't take many pictures at all, but I did have her snap this one of Henry getting a nice ride while we shopped.
3. You may have caught my "When I Grow Up" post from earlier this week, but it not, you can read it here.
4. You will see this again when I post my June favorites, but I couldn't wait to share it with you. One of my friends gave the Big Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray in a bag full of other goodies for my birthday last week. I washed my hair before I went to bed and then sprayed the stuff on there and let it air dry. I woke up the next morning with my hair looking like this! Yes, please. This is perfect for Summer hair.
5. I have posted several new YouTube videos this week and listed them below. Please check them out and subscribe! I also have some in the works for next week that are not beauty related, so be on the look out for those. May Ipsy Glam Bag May Favorites May Empties Would You Rather - Beauty Tag
Every other Tuesday, Andrea, hosts Show and Tell Tuesday. This week's theme is "When I Grow Up".
I always wanted to be a wife and stay-at-home mommy. I also went through a stage of wanting to be a teacher. I don't think I ever really considered being anything else.
I am so thankful for the desires that God placed in my heart as a young girl. There were times that I wasn't sure if I would really get to stay home with my kids, but God is always so faithful. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and two really fun little boys. I never planned to homeschool my children, but I really do enjoy being their teacher. I can't imagine doing anything else.
I wanted to share my May Ipsy Glam Bag with you. This is my first glam bag and I was really excited to receive it. Ipsy is a $10 monthly subscription. You fill out a questionnaire and they send you 4-5 deluxe size samples in a makeup bag to try each month. I enjoy trying new beauty products, so I thought this would be a good fit for me.
If you would like to see my video review of this bag, you can check it out HERE. Items I Received
- The Bag itself was just okay for me. I mostly didn't like the shape of the bag.
- Urban Decay -24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + BONUS Revolution High-Color Lipgloss I really like the pencil. I have used it with other lipglosses and it does a great job keeping them in place. The High-Color Lipgloss lives up to it's name. You get a ton of color payoff and it stays put!
- Balanced Guru - Style Me Hair Oil I liked this pretty good. It smells nice and I like it on the ends of my hair when I wear my hair curly.
- NUXE - RĂªve de Miel® Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel This was just okay. I didn't like the smell and it was kind of sticky.
- Chella - Eyebrow Color Pencil This was another favorite in the bag. I received the color Tantelizing Taupe and it was the perfect match for my brows. It is a pretty dry formula that blends well and stays put.
- Jesse's Girl - Pure Pigment Eye Dust This was my favorite in the bag. I wasn't expecting to like it at all because it is a loose shadow, but I gave it a try and I'm glad that I did. It is the perfect warm brown to wear in your crease. It also blends really well.
I am calling the May bag a winner!
